Size & Fit Guide
Short answer: EMMANUELA handcrafted for you® sandals fit true to size. Order the EU size you usually wear. If you are between two sizes, have wide feet, or wear half sizes, choose the next larger whole size. Women’s sizes range from EU 36-42 and men’s from EU 40-47 — whole sizes only.
I design and handcraft each pair in my workshop in Greece, so I know exactly how each sandal fits the foot. Below you will find everything you need to confidently choose your size: how to measure at home, a size chart, how each style fits, and what my customers say.
How to measure your foot
You only need a piece of paper, a pen, and a ruler or tape measure. Measure both feet — they are rarely exactly the same.
- Place a sheet of paper on the floor with one edge against a wall.
- Stand barefoot on the paper with your heel touching the wall and your weight on the foot you are measuring.
- Mark the end of the longest toe — it’s not always the big toe.
- Measure the distance from the wall to the mark in centimeters. This is your foot length.
- Repeat with the other foot and use the larger of the two measurements.
Tip: Measure in the afternoon when your foot is slightly swollen so the sandals will be comfortable even at their largest fit.
Size chart: cm, EU, UK & US
My sandals are made in European (EU) sizes. Below you will find the equivalents in UK and US sizes, as well as foot length in centimeters. The most reliable size is the foot length in cm — UK/US equivalents are approximate and vary slightly by manufacturer. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.

How each style fits
Gladiator sandals
They tie high on the calf and adjust as you tie them, so they are forgiving and easy to fit.
Sandals with buckles & straps
Adjustable straps and buckles allow you to customize the fit around the heel and instep.
Slides & mules
They have no adjustment, so length is what matters — measure carefully and if you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.
Espadrilles
With their woven sole, espadrilles need the right length from the start, so rely on your measurement and the size chart.
Men’s sandals
Men’s sandals follow the same true-to-size rule in EU 40-47 — order your usual size or the next larger if you have wide feet.
What my customers say
In over 1,000 verified reviews, “true to size” is the most common comment about sizing, while comfort — the anatomical footbed and soft leather — is the compliment I hear most often. Those with wide feet or high arches usually recommend choosing one size larger.
The leather adapts to your foot
I work with genuine leather that has its own “memory”: it softens, hugs the foot, and gradually takes its shape. In the right size, the sandals feel comfortable from day one and get even better with wear.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do the sandals fit true to size?
Yes. In over 1,000 verified reviews, “true to size” is the most common comment about sizing — order the EU size you usually wear.
I wear half sizes — what should I order?
My sandals are only available in whole EU sizes. If you wear half sizes, choose the next larger whole size — the leather softens and hugs your foot with wear.
I have wide feet or high arches — what should I watch out for?
Customers with wide feet or high insteps usually recommend choosing one size larger. Also prefer styles with adjustable straps or buckles that adapt to width and arch.
How do I measure my foot at home?
Step barefoot on a piece of paper with your heel against the wall, mark the longest toe, measure from wall to mark in centimeters, and compare with the size chart. Use the larger of the two measurements.
My two feet differ — which type is best?
Choose your size based on the larger foot and prefer adjustable styles — gladiator sandals or sandals with buckles and straps — that can be adjusted separately on each foot for a perfect fit.
